Why owners trust us with the sale

Since 1959, we’ve handled the sale of more than 15,000 catering businesses across the UK — freehold and leasehold, from £10,000 corner takeaways to multi-million-pound flagships. Same firm, same family, same standards — built one sale at a time.

We don’t just list your business and wait. Your shop gets advertised on rosens.co.uk, on every major aggregator buyers actually use, and in the trade press your buyers actually read — from Fish Friers Review to the regional papers.

But most of our sales don’t come from a buyer stumbling across an advert. They come from our long-serving sales team picking up the phone and matching your business to a buyer we’ve known for years. Six decades of being trusted by the trade means a register thousands of names deep — owner-operators looking for their first shop, family teams expanding, established operators wanting their next site. When the right one walks in, we already know who to call.

What sellers say

The trust we’ve earned, in their words.

  • Sold our shop in just under three months at a price we wouldn't have got anywhere else. Felt like they actually cared.

  • Honest valuation from the start. No drip-fed extra charges, no surprises — and a buyer lined up before we'd even put up the sign.

  • My grandfather sold his shop through Rosens in 1982. They sold mine last spring. Same firm, same standards.

What it costs

You only pay commission when we sell your business

One commission, on completion. No drip-fed extras.

  • No commission until we sell.

You only pay when the deal completes — a single agreed commission on the sale price, nothing before.

  • No weekly advertising costs.

Putting your business in front of buyers is on us, every week of the year.

  • No withdrawal fees.

Change your mind at any point and walk away. We don't bill you a penny for it.

  • No newspaper or media charges.

Coverage in the trade press and local media is included as standard.

  • No website promotional fees.

Listing on rosens.co.uk and the major aggregators is part of the service, not an add-on.

  • No hidden invoices.

What we quote is what you pay. If we haven't told you about a charge upfront, you won't see one.

A proper visit, not a form-filler

A qualified valuer comes to you, in person.

Once you instruct us, a qualified Rosens valuer visits your shop — quietly, at a time that suits you, with no fanfare or branded car on the parade. We do this for two reasons:

  • Confidentiality. We’d rather meet your business ourselves than rely on photos and hearsay. Nothing leaves the premises until you’ve agreed it should.

  • Accuracy. We produce the sales particulars based on what we’ve actually seen. That means our team talks to buyers with real authority — and buyers turn up to viewings already convinced.

Where your business gets seen

Six channels working in your favour, every week.

One commission covers all of it.

  • rosens.co.uk — our own register, six decades deep
  • Daltons Business — the UK's largest catering-business marketplace
  • rightbiz.com — every serious buyer searches it
  • Fish Friers Review — the trade's monthly bible
  • National and local newspapers — for the buyers who still read them
  • Direct phone calls from our long-serving sales team to known buyers

How it works

From first call to keys handed over

  1. 1

    Tell us about your business

Fill in the form below — it takes two minutes. Or if you'd rather talk it through, call the number for your part of the country. There's no obligation, and what you tell us doesn't go any further.

  2. 2

We come and see it in person

Once you're ready, a qualified Rosens valuer visits your shop. We do this for two reasons: confidentiality, because we'd rather meet your business ourselves than rely on photos, and accuracy, because we then produce sales particulars based on what we've actually seen.

  3. 3

    We market it discreetly

Your business goes out across our register, the major aggregators, and the trade press — but your name and address stay private until we find you a serious buyer. The shop sells; the secret stays.

  4. 4

    We negotiate and complete

We handle the offers, push for the right price, and work with both solicitors through to completion. You only pay our agreed commission — and only when the sale completes.
